Summer Beloved Community Book Study of “Jesus and the Disinherited”, by Howard Thurman – Continued

Summer Beloved Community Book Study of “Jesus and the Disinherited”, by Howard Thurman – Continued

“Famously known as the text that Martin Luther King Jr. sought inspiration from in the days leading up to the Montgomery bus boycott, Howard Thurman’s Jesus and the Disinherited helped shape the civil rights movement and changed our nation’s history forever.”

July 1: forewords & Chapter 1

August 5: Chapters 2&3

September 2: Chapters 4 & 5 & Epilogue

Reading the book is not mandatory for this book study! Whether you read a few pages or the whole book, our conversation will be better with you there. Just prepare for spoilers! We’ll talk about the book—our favorite parts, where we see ourselves, and what this book has to do with us, our faith communities, and our diocese.
Join us to discuss texts vital to our understanding of the beloved community in the Diocese of Southern Ohio and beyond.

All Beloved Community Book Study sessions will take place on Zoom.

There is no cost to participate in the Beloved Community Book Study. Please RSVP to receive your Zoom link and to request the book.
